- Urdu
Candidates appearing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) Mains have to select one Indian language from this list and write Paper-A, which is of qualifying nature. The candidates need to score a minimum qualifying mark in this paper to ensure their other papers’ evaluation. The marks obtained in this paper are not counted in the final merit list; it is meant to test the candidate’s language skills and ensure a basic understanding of the chosen language.
